There are a few things I found surprising – I’ve always resisted the urge to submit previous talks to new venue, for fear of rejection for being a “re-run”. I also often wonder how much biographical information to provide for blind review processes; I didn’t realize that while the individual reviewers may be blind, those who ultimately make the selections factor in biographical info. Valuable information!
