Absolutely one of the funniest — because truest — movies ever made. and about the kitchen no less. One kitchen, standing in for many, no doubt observed by an expert, preferably with a few alphabet strings after his or her name.

The film’s depiction of Swedish rationalism and polite manners is slightly exaggerated. If ever there was a people beholden to facts and figures, the Swedes certainly are.

Although beneath those observing exteriors beat warm hearts, mostly, and creativity that erupts from the movie in unexpected ways. Although sometimes, when it gets too quiet, they’d rather be out counting … something, anything!
