The guy there refused to give me his name, or any further details whatsoever. He explained that I have a recycled telephone number: “When numbers are given up they go into quarantine and should get all the details removed. Every so often one slips through. We get two or three a week like this..”

He then offered to send me a cheque for £45. I accepted. But I am still pissed off.
